WhatsApp Session (Scan QR)

WhatsApp Session is a Konektor feature that lets you connect a regular WhatsApp Business number (not WA API) to Konektor via QR Code Scan, similar to opening WhatsApp Web in a browser.

Important

This feature uses WhatsApp Web (Linked Device) technology. You do not need a WhatsApp Business API subscription or any partner. Just have a regular WhatsApp Business app on your phone, then scan the QR from the Konektor dashboard.

What Can Session Do?

Once your WA number is connected via Session, Konektor can:

How to Set Up WhatsApp Session

1. Open the Session Menu

Go to your workspace dashboard, then open WhatsApp > Session from the sidebar.

2. Scan QR Code

  1. Click Add Session to create a new session, fill in the name then click Create Session.
  2. Click Start Session on the newly created session.
  3. Click Show QR to display the QR code.
  4. Open the WhatsApp Business app on your phone.
  5. Go to Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.
  6. Scan the QR code displayed on the Konektor dashboard.
  7. Wait until the status changes to Connected.

3. Verify Connection

After a successful scan:

  • The status will change to Connected (green).
  • Last Sync will show the most recent sync time.
  • Your WA number will appear in the session list.

Troubleshooting

Unique Code Not Showing in Dashboard

If a customer has sent a message with a unique code (e.g., K-WPA4N) but the lead doesn't appear in Konektor:

  1. Check Session status — Open WhatsApp > Session. Make sure the status is Connected (green).
  2. Check Last Sync — Ensure the Last Sync time is recent (no more than a few minutes ago).
  3. Reconnect if needed — If the status is Disconnected or Last Sync is stale, click Start Session and scan the QR again.
  4. Check Automation Rules — Make sure there's an active rule to process incoming messages in WhatsApp > Rules.

Session Frequently Disconnects

  • Make sure your phone stays connected to the internet (WiFi or mobile data).
  • Make sure WhatsApp on your phone is not force-closed or restricted by battery saver.
  • WhatsApp limits the number of Linked Devices. If the limit is reached, remove other unused devices.

Last Sync Not Updating

  • Check your phone's internet connection.
  • Try Reconnect from the dashboard.
  • If the issue persists, delete the session and scan the QR again.

Conversion Events Not Sent to Meta

  • Make sure the Pixel ID is set in the Conversion menu.
  • Make sure the Session status is Connected.
  • Check whether the lead has been created in the Leads menu — conversion events are sent when a lead is first created from a chat.

If you only need conversion tracking from ads to WhatsApp and simple automation rules, Session (Scan QR) is sufficient. You don't need to upgrade to WA API.
