Qontak WhatsApp Integration

Connect your Mekari Qontak account with Konektor so that every incoming WhatsApp message from customers is automatically saved as a Lead in your Konektor database.

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

  1. Active Mekari Qontak Account.
  2. Access Token from Mekari (obtainable from Developer Portal or Qontak Dashboard).

Setup Guide

1. Get Qontak Token

You need an OAuth Access Token (Bearer Token) from Mekari Qontak. This token authorizes Konektor to read incoming messages.

2. Connect in Konektor

  1. Login to Konektor Dashboard.
  2. Go to Integrations > Partner Integrations.
  3. Click + Add Integration and select Qontak.
  4. Enter the Token obtained in step 1.
  5. Click Save.

Pending Status

After saving, the integration status will be Pending. This is normal as connection verification is pending.

3. Verify Connection (Mandatory)

This is the most crucial step. To ensure messages are received, we must confirm the connection.

  1. Find your Pending Qontak integration.
  2. Click the Verify Connection button (shield/check icon).
  3. Wait for the success message.
  4. Status will change to Active (green).
When you click Verify, our system automatically configures the webhook in your Qontak account. No manual technical setup required.

Automated Tracking Features

Beyond saving contacts, this integration features advanced tracking capabilities:

1. Click to WhatsApp Ads (CTWA) Support

If you run Facebook/Instagram Ads directing to Qontak WhatsApp:

  • Konektor automatically detects ad parameters (ctwa_clid) passed by Qontak.
  • Auto Lead Creation: Creates new lead data with accurate ad attribution.
  • Conversion Event: Automatically sends Lead event to Meta Pixel/CAPI for ad optimization.

2. Visitor Identification

The system can identify website visitors who chat to Qontak WhatsApp if they previously visited a website with Konektor Pixel installed.

Filtering with Room Tags

You can filter which messages are processed by automation rules using Room Tags from Qontak.

How to Use

  1. In Qontak Dashboard, add Tags to the chat room (e.g., VIP, Order, Complaint).
  2. In Konektor, create a new Automation Rule.
  3. Select Room Tags condition.
  4. Enter the tag value you want to filter:
    • Exact Match: Enter the exact tag name (e.g., VIP).
    • Contains: Use format contains:word (e.g., contains:promo to match promo-jan, promo-feb).
Use this filter to prioritize leads. For example, only process messages with tag Sales for checkout automation, while Support tags are ignored or routed to the CS team.

Troubleshooting

Verification Failed

If status changes to Error after clicking Verify:

  • Check if your Token is valid (Tokens can expire).
  • Ensure the Token has scopes for chat or omnichannel.
  • Try creating a new integration with a fresh Token.

Messages Not Received

If status is Active but WhatsApp messages don't appear in Konektor:

  1. Click Verify Connection again to refresh the connection.
  2. Ensure your WhatsApp number in Qontak is active/online.
