WhatsApp Rotator

WhatsApp Rotator is a core feature of Konektor that allows you to use One Single Link (e.g., link.brand.com/wa/promo) to distribute customer chats to Multiple CS Numbers automatically.

Important

You DO NOT NEED to Scan QR / Connect WA Numbers to use this Rotator feature. The Rotator works as a "Traffic Manager" that splits visitors before they open the WhatsApp app.

Key Functions

Instead of spreading different customer service numbers on Instagram, Facebook, and your Website, you simply share one rotator link. If a CS team member goes on leave or resigns, you can simply disable them from the dashboard without needing to change the link on all your ads.

2. Traffic Distribution (Load Balancing)

The system divides potential buyers among your CS team based on the method you choose:

  • Round Robin (Fair): CS A -> CS B -> CS C -> CS A (repeats).
  • Weighted (Percentage): Senior CS gets 80% traffic, Trainee CS gets 20%.

3. Sticky Routing (Consistency)

If a customer (John) has chatted with CS A before, and next week John clicks the promo link again, the system will automatically route John back to CS A.

  • Prevents customer confusion from changing admins.
  • Facilitates long-term follow-up.

4. Auto Tracking (Pixel & Analytics)

Everyone who clicks the rotator link is automatically recorded by Konektor.

  • Recorded as a ViewContent or Lead event (depending on settings).
  • UTM (Ad) data is stored and passed to the CS in the form of a "Unique Code" in the text message.

5. CTWA (Click to WhatsApp Ads) Support

If you use Konektor Session (Scan QR):

  • System automatically detects CTWA Ads.
  • Automatically creates/updates Lead upon first message.
  • Automatically sends Lead event to Meta Pixel (Ads Manager) to optimize your ads (Learning Phase).
  • Ensure Pixel ID is set in the Conversion menu.

6. Lead Capture Form (Collect Data)

You can enable a data collection form (Name, Email, Phone) plus dynamic custom fields before visitors are redirected to WhatsApp.

  • Data is automatically stored in the Leads menu.
  • Maximum 10 custom fields per rotator (text, textarea, select, checkbox).
  • You can use [k:key] message tokens to pass form values into the first WhatsApp message.
  • URL query params with k_* (for example k_budget=50jt) are also saved to lead custom fields and can be used in message tokens ([k:k_budget] / [k:budget]).
  • No tracking script update is required specifically for this feature.
  • Useful for comparing Ad performance (Leads) vs Chat (Conversion) with richer lead context.

A deeplink is a special URL that opens the WhatsApp app directly on a phone. It uses the whatsapp://send format, while wa.me is web-based.

This is important for Facebook/Instagram ads because most clicks happen on mobile and often open inside in-app browsers. With deeplinks enabled, users go straight to WhatsApp with fewer steps, which improves conversion.

  • Active only on mobile (Android/iPhone/iPad).
  • Disabled on desktop, which automatically falls back to wa.me.
  • Works only when you enable it on a rotator.
  1. Go to WhatsApp > Rotator.
  2. Click New Rotator or Edit an existing one.
  3. Turn on Enable WhatsApp Deeplink.
  4. Click Save.

What You Get

  • Facebook/Instagram ad clicks on phones open WhatsApp directly.
  • Desktop visitors still use wa.me for maximum compatibility.
Deeplinks can fail when in-app browsers block the whatsapp:// scheme, WhatsApp is not installed, or the OS prevents auto-opening apps. In these cases, the user may stay on the browser page.
Enable deeplink only for mobile traffic. For environments that commonly use in-app browsers, keep wa.me as a safe web fallback.
Enable deeplink for campaigns where most traffic comes from Facebook/Instagram on mobile to reduce friction and speed up chat.

Myths vs Facts

Many new users misunderstand how the Rotator works. Here is the clarification:

FeatureNeed Scan QR / Connect WA?Explanation
Distribute Traffic to CSNOLink only redirects to wa.me/628...
Track Ad ClicksNOTracking happens on the server upon link click.
Welcome MessageNOMessage is set via pre-filled text on the WA link.
Automation RulesNOAutomatic actions based on conditions (see Automation Rules).
Chatbot / Auto-ReplyRequires PartnerNeeds integration with Qiscus or similar platform.

Conclusion: If your goal is simply to distribute chats to your sales team and track lead counts from ads (Facebook/Google Ads), you only need to input the phone numbers without scanning any QR codes.

Konektor does not provide a built-in Chatbot feature. For such needs, you can integrate with partners like Qiscus WhatsApp Integration.

How to Create a Rotator

  1. Go to WhatsApp > Rotator.
  2. Click New Rotator.
  3. Slug: Define the link ending (e.g., promo-deal).
  4. Domain: Choose your custom domain.
  5. Pixel: Select Pixel ID for tracking (Important for CAPI).
  6. WhatsApp Numbers:
    • Click "Add Number".
    • Enter CS Name and WA Number (with country code).
    • Set Weight: Enter 100 for equal distribution.
  7. Message Template: Write the opening message that will appear on the customer's phone.
    • Use {{name}} or {{code}} for dynamic data.
  8. Click Save.

Now you have a link (e.g., link.yourbrand.com/wa/promo-deal) ready to be placed on Ads, Instagram Bio, or Landing Pages.

FAQ

Q: How is this different from LinkTree? A: LinkTree asks users to choose manually (click a button). Rotator splits users automatically directly to WhatsApp without an intermediate menu page, resulting in higher conversion (less friction).

Q: Can it detect inactive WA numbers? A: If you do not connect WA (Scan QR), the system cannot know if a number is active/dead (it only redirects). However, if you do connect WA, you can see online/offline status.

Q: What if CS A is busy or on leave? A: You can toggle the switch next to CS A's name in the Rotator dashboard. Traffic will automatically be diverted to other active CS members.
