Apps
The Apps tab connects the agent to apps such as Google Sheets, Slack, or Notion. The connection goes through Pipedream, with your own Pipedream account.
Each app offers some actions, for example "Add a single row". You choose the actions that the agent may use. The agent only uses the actions that you turn on.
If your system already has an MCP server, use MCP. If you have only one simple API, use Tools (API).
What you need
- The owner or admin role in the workspace.
- A saved OpenRouter key. Read Agentic.
- A Replies model with the Supports tools label.
- A Pipedream account.
- An account in the app that you want to connect, for example a Google account.
Set up Pipedream
You make two things in Pipedream: a project and an OAuth client. Menu names can differ from the text below. Look for the project settings and the API settings in your account.
- Sign in to pipedream.com.
- Create a new project, or choose an existing one.
- Open the project settings. Copy the Project ID. It starts with
proj_. - Open the API settings of your account. Create a new OAuth client.
- Copy the Client ID and the Client Secret. Pipedream can show the secret only once. Keep it in a safe place.
Do not share the Client Secret with other people.
Enter the settings in Konektor
- Open AI Wulan → Agent & model.
- Click the Apps tab.
- Enter the Project ID, the Client ID, and the Client Secret.
- Choose the Environment. Read Testing and production.
- Click Check and save.
Konektor checks the credentials first. If something is wrong, the message tells you which field to check. Konektor stores the secret encrypted and does not show it again. To change the settings, click Edit. Leave the Client Secret empty if the old secret is still correct.
Testing and production
| Environment | Use it for | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Testing | Trying things out before real use. | Pipedream limits this mode to 10 users. |
| Production | Real use. | No 10-user limit. |
When you connect an account in Testing mode, you must already be signed in to pipedream.com in the same browser.
Connect an app
- Click Add app.
- Type the app name in the Search apps field. Results appear when you stop typing.
- Click Add on the app that you want. If the list is long, click Load more.
- Click Connect on the app card.
- The page moves to Pipedream. Sign in to the app account and give permission.
- The page comes back to the Apps tab. The message "The … account is connected." appears, and the card status becomes Connected.
You can add up to 10 apps. When you reach the limit, Add app is off and the reason is written next to it.
App status:
| Status | Meaning | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | The account works. | Nothing. |
| Not connected | You did not connect an account. | Click Connect. |
| Problem | The account is disconnected, for example permission was removed. | Click Reconnect. |
A banner above the list counts the accounts with a problem. The Apps tab shows the number too.
Set up an action
- Click Add action on the app card.
- Find the action under Add a new action, then click Add.
- Set the fields of the action. Read Fixed or AI-filled.
- Turn on Active.
A new action stays off until you turn it on. You can add up to 30 actions.
Each action has a label:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Read only | The action only reads data. |
| Changes data | The action adds or changes data. |
| Deletes data | The action can delete data. |
Fixed or AI-filled
Each field of an action has two choices.
| Choice | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Fixed | You enter the value here. The value is the same each time the action runs. |
| AI-filled | The agent fills the value from the conversation with the customer. |
Example for "Add a single row" in Google Sheets: choose Fixed for the spreadsheet and the sheet, so the data always goes to the right place. Choose AI-filled for the customer name and the complaint.
- A field with a list of choices, for example a spreadsheet, loads from your account. Click Choose…, search, then pick. Click Load more if not all choices show.
- A choice that opens other fields, for example a sheet that opens its columns, is always Fixed. After you choose, the new fields appear.
- Secret data, for example a key, is always Fixed. Konektor stores it encrypted and does not show it again.
- A field that the AI cannot fill shows the reason below the choice.
- A required field that is empty is marked and named under Active. The action cannot turn on until all of them are filled.
Each change saves when you choose a value or leave the field.
Needs approval
The Needs approval switch is on by default for actions that change or delete data. The agent then waits for your team to press Approve in the Inbox before the action runs. Read Hand over to team and approvals.
If you turn it off, the agent runs the action at once. Start with approval on. Turn it off only for safe actions.
Test once
The Test once button runs the action one time with real data. The test uses your Pipedream quota. An action that changes data really changes data in the app.
- Click Test once.
- Read the warning.
- Enter a value for each AI-filled field.
- Click Run.
The result shows below the button. A long result is cut. If the test fails, the message tells you why. Example: "The app account is disconnected. Connect it again."
You can test an action before you turn it on. The button is off when the account is not connected or a required field is empty. The reason is written near the button.
New versions and changes
App providers sometimes update actions. When you open the Apps tab, Konektor looks for new versions.
- An action with a new version has the New version label. A banner above the list counts them.
- Click Update in the action panel. Fields with the same name and type keep their values.
- After the update, your approval is removed. Review the fields, then click Approve change.
The agent does not use a changed action until you approve it again. This stops outside changes from altering the agent behavior without your knowledge.
Costs
Pipedream measures usage and bills it to your Pipedream account. Watch the usage in your Pipedream account.
Calls by the agent and tests both count.
Delete
| What you delete | How | Result |
|---|---|---|
| One action | Open the action, click Delete action. | The agent cannot use it. You can add it again. |
| One app | Click the trash icon on the card. | All actions of that app are deleted too. Your account in Pipedream stays. |
| All settings | Click the trash icon on the settings card. Choose Delete in Konektor only or Also delete in Pipedream. | All apps and actions are deleted too. The second choice also deletes all app accounts in Pipedream. |
If something goes wrong
| Message | What you do |
|---|---|
| The Pipedream credentials do not match. | Check the Client ID and the Client Secret. |
| The Pipedream project was not found. | Check the Project ID. |
| The app account is disconnected. | Click Reconnect. |
| Pipedream is limiting requests. | Wait a moment, then try again. |
| The app refused the request. | Check the action fields and the permissions of the app account. |
| Limit reached. | Delete one app or one action. |
